My dad has had no luck with cars. About a year an a half ago, something broke on the back axle while he was on a corner and his car rolled 6 times successivly. This knocked him out with a concussion to suit, then five months ago he saw some idiot take a corner in the wet by our house and literally bend the car round a lampost. My dad was with this poor kid as he died in the car with bits stuck in his face and head, then two months ago my dad got a new Saab and someone broke his rear window and couldn't get in so tried to pry open the door and locks eventaully getting in and poped the boot to steal a laptop, network cabling and his fleece for Christ sake. The insurance wanted to write the car off but my dad took a settlement and got a mate at a garage to do the repairs.
Now yesterday driving home minding his own busininess, someone from the council in his gritter or a lorry driver decided to take my old mans side of the road as well as his own and totaly demolished the car.
My dad is ok, but now because he needs a car for work he's going to get himself into debt buying another car until the insurance pay up.
I keep tellin him to take time off work and sue the ignorant driver for loss of earnings and go to hospital and then sue again for whip lash. The council drivers around here are rubbish. Last year we were woken when a bin lorry driver ploughed into my mums parked car. A little further and it would have been mine these people around here are rubbish drivers, do Wrexham council even check to see if these people can actually drive?
To top this story off my dad took a car off a mate of his with the intention of paying him when he got his payout, (the car was his mates mums) anyway it was a low pressure turbo saab really fast, but there were quite a few small problems with the car so my dad didn't want it. Driving back to the the house, some kids throw a rock from the park, just miss the driver window and heavily dent the front/rear door (Grrr angry).
This was my 'thread' on www.cavweb.com about a month ago. My dad has since got a wicked saab anniversary and it looks lurvly, drives even better and has millions of handy gadgets. But with my old mans luck i'd lock it up in the garage and start using the bus!
